Odds at every book

The same bet pays differently depending on where you place it. Every game below shows the price at each of the legal US sportsbooks we track, at the line most books agree on, with the best price on each side marked. In Florida, Hard Rock Bet is the only legal online book — so its row is pinned on top, with a note on how its number compares.

The odds screen fills in with the next board refresh — every morning, and again before kickoff on game days.

Questions

Reading the odds screen

Why does the best price matter?

Because the difference is pure profit or loss. Taking +265 instead of +245 on the same team is 20 dollars more per 100 when it wins, for the same risk. Over a season of bets, shopping for the best number is worth more than most bettors' entire edge.

I'm in Florida — I can only use Hard Rock Bet. What do I do with this?

Use it to choose which bets to make, since you can't choose where. When Hard Rock's price matches or beats the rest of the market, you're giving nothing away. When it is 15 or 20 cents behind, you are paying a premium for that side — often a reason to pass, or to look at a different market on the same game.

Why is there one spread and one total per game?

Books post alternate lines at different prices, which makes them impossible to compare. We show the line most books agree on, and only the books offering that exact number, so every price in a column is for the same bet.

Do you take bets or get paid by these sportsbooks?

No. Black Box Bets is an information service: we take no wagers, link to no sportsbook and have no affiliate deals. The prices come from a commercial odds data feed at our last refresh.

The other half

The best price only matters if the bet is worth making. Our model puts a probability on every side of every game; one pick is free each week, and every pick is graded in public.
